Heavy's is a neighborhood bar and burger joint.
The name “Heavy” is a nod to founder, John Haire’s grandfather. John’s grandfather earned the nickname from family and friends in his hometown in NW Florida. Heavy was involved in schools, his church, farming, helping families in his community, but also known to sneak away for a mid-week card game with his poker buddies. John draws on his fond memories going to his grandfather’s farm to spend summer nights swimming and fishing until he was called in for supper. Enjoying a meal there meant storytelling & belly laughs. Everyone had a seat. The meal could be stretched if guests happened to be around as it was served. Creating that vibe at Heavy’s Barburger is paramount. Serve really good food. Be kind and attentive to our guests. Be a contributor to the neighborhood.
Heavy’s kitchen is focused on making everything fresh, daily. Fried Chicken is marinated in buttermilk after taking a long bath in a brine of saltwater and sugar. Smashburgers are made with our proprietary blend of Angus short rib, brisket, and chuck roll. Fresh, local produce is always used when it is delicious and in season. Our salads are fresh, creative, and full of all the good stuff. The Lemon Lime Icebox Pie is delicious and good for your soul, made with love.
Behind the bar, Heavy’s bartenders are shakin’ margaritas with an extensive line-up of tequila & fresh squeezed juices. Every draft beer is local. The backdrop for the bar is the vintage sound system. The speakers and amp fill the room with a playlist that ranges from Prince to Bob Marley, the Doobie Brothers to Pat Benatar, Van Halen to Chris Stapleton. Whatever feels good.
Please take a seat wherever you like.
Welcome!
